There are a few raindrops on the painting. Typical day in New Hampshire this time of year.

Shadow on Red Barn

8x10 oil on board
This is a smaller version of one I painted last fall. I thought since I was into painting these shadows, I'd give this another try. It wasn't any easy a year later.

Small White Barn in Village

8x6 oil on board
These shadows are everywhere this time of year on a beautiful day. I don't know what to paint first.

White Shed with Shadows

8x6 oil on board
This time of the year anytime of the day has long shadows the sun is so low. This is actually mid morning. The side of the shed was so white.

Blueberry Field with Birches

10x8 oil on board
This is a smaller version of an earlier post. This is a huge rolling field covered in blueberry bushes in Rockport, Maine. The blueberry bushes turn bright red in the fall. The dirt road crests the hill where you have panaramic views of the ocean. The colors in autumn are unbelievable.

My Sister's Kitchen

14x10 mixed media
My sister has the most interesting flare for interior decorating. I just felt I had to do a painting of her kitchen. I painted her living room already and gave it to her as a gift. She is one of my biggest fans. This painting is done with a watercolor wash and pastels on top. A little funky - just like the kitchen.

Barn on Edge of Hill

6x6 oil on board
What I liked best about this angle of the barn was being able to see the gold side doors. The more the painting progressed the less significant this became. I'm working on a larger version. Maybe I'll work the golds and browns more then.

Autumn Pond

7x5 oil on board
This is a pond on the edge of an apple orchard. The sun was going in and out the entire time, so the color of the water kept changing. It was a busy time in the orchard for the pickers - and the apples were de-lish.

Walking Path Near Massabesic

6x8 oil on board
Autumn is by far the best time to paint outside. The sun is lower in the sky (at least up here in New England), many of the leaves have fallen leaving bare trees (which I love), the sun is warm... I could go on.

Pine Trees and a Bush

6x8 oil on board
These trees are in my neighbors yard. There actually is a row of them. I have painted these trees many times. I love them when the sun hits them just right.

Another rendition of Silver Lake. I'm trying to shake up my palette a little bit - use colors where I normally wouldn't.

This was started the last hour or so before the sun went behind the trees. I took a photo at the time and finish it later.

Houses Next Door

14 x 11 oil on board SOLD
This was painted outside. There were alot of clouds, some rain, some sun. By the time I finished, it was late in the afternoon, but no clouds. So there was alot of changing shadows and light. I guess I was lucky to finish before dark.

Yellow Tablecloth

12 x 9 oil on board SOLD
This was done outside. It always feels like a mad race painting outside. Much got eliminated.

Two Silos

8 x 6 pastel
This was my submission for Karin Jurick's Different Strokes from Different Folks. I'm not too crazy about the composition. I think the silos just be more to the right, but I liked the silly field to the right of them for some reason, so this is what I ended up with.
