Houlihan

7x5 collage and oil on board
$75 s&h 8.

I worked on two different mug shot paintings today. The first one was black and white from the turn of the century. I had a hard time getting the nose to look right when I finally realized that she really had a deformed nose - like she had been in a knife fight. So I painted her nose as if normal and felt like I was giving this poor woman a new lease on life. I was immortalizing her. I then moved on to the second mug shot. This one was current and in color. I was working and struggling on the nose - again, when I realized it was the same stupid nose as the other one. Only this time she wasn't deformed. Those lips! They're the same too. Oh god, she didn't learn her lesson.

I want those lips. You are so incredible with these faces. I am in awe when I see your beautiful work. A personal favorite is "picnic". I would really like to own all of them.
